I have been working as a PCA at an assisted living facility since I was 15, and I am now 17. I am going to take my CNA test without taking the course- per my boss and coworkers. Any pointers? Will I need to be able to measure vitals? Thanks.

Being a certified nurses aid is an amazing job! I just took the classes and I’m very happy with it! I just turned 17 and I already make $10.70 an hour! Go for it

Lacie, Thanks for visiting this website. CNA career is wide open to young people like you as long as you have completed your GED. However, please note that CNA career is not for everyone. You should have at least two qualities - having the compassion for people who are sick and willingness to take care of them and willingness to work hard even in shifts and the work may involve lot of physical activity. I am a Certified Nursing Assistant. I did not know about this job 2 years ago. Because of the recession I was forced to look for a job where I won’t get fired and which would give me a steady income. I am happy I chose this profession. CNA is a perfect job for anyone who loves to help people and willing to work hard.
